Assessing the Implementation of the Small Business Act for Europe

The OECD will be hosting a launch event at their Conference Centre in Paris to mark the SME Policy Index for the Western Balkans and Turkey on April 28th 2016.

The event represents a distinguished occasion to participate in a high-level discussion on SME policy in
the EU enlargement region, during which latest developments and outstanding challenges as identified in the SBA assessment will be debated with prominent EU officials, government officials from the Western Balkans and Turkey, OECD member countries as well as international partner organisations. In addition, this event will provide a forum for participants to discuss economic reforms under the broader prospects of the enlargement dialogue with the European Union.

EIF and the Government of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, held a press conference in Skopje to mark the launch of the Enterprise Innovation Fund (ENIF) and the local Government’s contribution of EUR 300k. Speakers from the EIF, the Government, as well as the European Commission and South Central Ventures (ENIF’s fund manager, as selected by EIF) announced the news to the members of the local press, including several national news channels.

EIF, together with the Croatia Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts, held a press conference to mark both the launch of the Enterprise Innovation Fund (ENIF) as well as Croatia’s investment of EUR 2m in this initiative.

This Forum is the leading industry conference in the region and provides networking ground for corporates and international professionals interested in deal-making in SEE, future, prospects and investment potential across the SEE Private Equity market.

EIF as well as ENIF’s Fund Manager will be represented at the conference, taking place at the Metropol Palace in Belgrade, Serbia.

Representatives from all WBEDIF partners, together with the Western Balkans Beneficiaries, met at the historic premises of the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance in Rome, on Monday 15 June 2015 to hold semi annual discussions on the strategic direction of the Platform

George Giakoumakis (EIF) – Creation of the Regional Venture Capital Markets – WB EDIF

The Platform Advisory Group (PAG) members will be meeting for the 3rd time since the inception of the WB EDIF in order to discuss strategic direction and take key decisions to further the development of WBEDIF as a key facility in the territory enabling access to finance for SMEs. This meeting is also coordinated with the WBIF Steering Committee which takes place the day before on December 4th.
