As one of the Western Balkans Beneficiaries involved upon the creation of WB EDIF in 2012, Croatia – despite its EU accession soon thereafter – is still an important country of operation for WB EDIF. The equity funds have been able to make several interesting investments in this country. ENIF invested in Agrivi, the provider of a farm-management software, Bulb Technologies, offering next generation solutions for the management of telecommunication services and Sentinel Marine, a leading smart solution for recreational boats in the Adriatic, with a vision of Building IoT at sea.
ENEF in parallel also invested in the Pula Regeneration Centre, a retail and entertainment centre.
Under the Guarantee Facility, an instrument signed in 2015 also saw good absorption over time via Raiffeisen Bank Austria.
On the Support Services side:
- The World Bank Investment Readiness Program “Pioneers of the Balkans” provided mentoring to entrepreneurs to help them get access to external sources of funding,
- The EBRD’s Advice for Small Businesses is present in Croatia but supported outside of the WB EDIF platform.
